Notices:
Note. I will refer to the job name as "Ares" because Ares name wise is better than Duelist (:
Ares, aka Duelist in NAGC is being released on April 14, 2010. I have made a guide in preparation. If you have any info, please contribute~
Notice: Instead of making screenshots, I'm going to make a .gif file of things. Hopefully it will be easier to understand how the attack works. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is Ares/Duelist? Ares is the Greek god of war. If Sieghart takes this job, he should be one of the best, right? Trust me, he is. However, I’m going to warn you first. Ares relies on techniques rather than pure power like Warlord. Ares lacks attack power, but the possible techniques you can pull off with Ares makes up for it. This makes him one of the best jobs, in my opinion. This is a guide based on a dungeoner’s perspective, with a few PvP tips thrown in here and there. If you want to PvP with Ares, I suggest you keep using Warlord, because of Warlord’s massive range.
How does Ares fare in dungeons? If you’re good with tactics, Ares is better than Warlord and Gladiator. However, there are a few flaws that can hurt Ares’ performance in dungeons unless you overcome them. I will explain some of the flaws later.
How does Ares fare in PvP? Ares is about average with PvP, but Warlord would be better because of the range. But once again, if you can pull off several tactical moves, Ares is better. If you spam 1 MP in PvP, you’ll love Ares in PvP; His 1st bar has tons of invincible frames and the damage is very high and balanced.
How does Ares compare to his other jobs? Is it hard to change? Ares is very hard to get used to, because his battle strategy highly contrasts with his first two jobs. But like I said earlier, if you can learn some of his techniques, he will be a formidable ally in dungeons and a formidable opponent in PvP.
Basics:
Z+Z+Z+Z+Z: Basic combo. Sieghart punches out, swings around while kicking, then draws his swords and slashes 3 times. This combo is actually somewhat weak.
Z+Z+Z+Z+Z+ (->, anywhere in the combo): Critical/Double attack. Sieghart kicks forward and swings his swords downwards. That first kick is the strongest one hit in Sieghart’s entire combo.
^+Z+Z: Jump attack. Sieghart swings his swords downward, then follows with a flip kick. The damage between the two hits is equal.
->+->: Dash. Sieghart can run, like every other job he has.
->+->+Z+Z+Z+Z+Z: Dash attack. It’s pretty much a variation of his basic combo. You can pull off a critical and double attack in this.
^+^+Z: Jump attack. Sieghart swings both his swords upwards. Pushes Sieghart up a little bit as well.
V+V: Ready stance. Sieghart dashes towards the ground, like Lass’ Double Down, and lands in a ready stance, with both swords unsheathed. From this stage, he can pull off several different moves. Can be used as a combo cancel. Can be pulled off in a jump, or in a combo.
V+V+->(or <-…whichever direction you’re facing): Moves forward. Sieghart keeps his ready stance and moves forward very slowly. Not really useful.
V+V+<-(or ->, whichever direction is the opposite of you): Jumps backwards. Mainly used for dodging.
V+V+^: Sheathes swords. Pretty much returns from ready to standby.
V+V+Z: Heavy Smash. Sieghart slashes out once, as a horizontal cut. Does very impressive damage. Sometimes, this does not knock down. Does NOT drain the rage bar.
V+V+(Press Z rapidly): Running attack. Easily Sieghart’s most powerful attack, Sieghart pushes forward while doing many short, powerful jabs. This drains the rage bar! However, this is Sieghart’s most powerful attack, and doing it on one enemy, with a full rage bar. If it doesn’t die or dodge it, you’ll get a decent amount of MP. Easy way to get MP by using it on mobs. Also a very strong attack in PvP.
Rage Bar: Slowly fills over time, increases faster when hit or getting hit. Running attack decreases this, and does not refill it. Being countered refills this bar by 1/3rd.
X: Activates rage. Sieghart makes a battle cry. This battle cry frame lasts about 1 full second, meaning it’s 1 full second of invincibility. Using running attack in rage does not increase the speed of the rage bar decreasing.
WARNING: In Rage Mode, Sieghart’s stance is more ready, and the first hit of his combo(the punch) pushes forward a lot, which may result in completely missing a small enemy. Keep a tiny bit of distance in rage, or always pull off a combo via dash attack.
MP attacks:
MP 1: Rule Break Sieghart takes out his swords and slashes 5 consecutive times. Very good attack, with a nice amount of delay and consistent damage between all slashes. This skill changes when used consecutively multiple times. The 2nd time, Sieghart slashes twice, then stabs(hits twice), then the same forward “break” slash finish. The 3rd time, Sieghart slashes twice, then stabs(hits twice), then does an upward swing finish. In PvP, this sends targets airborne, making them vulnerable for an air grab.
MP 2: Grinding Revolt Sieghart pushes his opponents for about 1 or 2 seconds, then does a massive uppercut. This attack sets opponents up for an air grab. This attack is somewhat weak for a 2nd bar, but it has a nice amount of range.
MP 3: X-Punisher Sieghart makes a circle of slashes in front of him(pretty decent range), and then turns away and sheathes his swords, while a big powerful final hit occurs. Uncounterable in PvP.
Rage MP Attacks:
MP 1: Rule Break This attack is virtually useless in rage mode. It only becomes the form of when Sieghart uses it twice in a row when in normal mode. Sieghart slashes twice, stabs(hits twice), the a forward “break” slash finish. The 2nd time when used consecutively becomes the third use. Same steps, with a upward swing finish. No change when used a 3rd time in rage mode.
MP 2: Grinding Revolt This attack is much stronger. Same pushing steps, with the same uppercut, but then Sieghart follows up with a ground splash, which also hits multiple times. This is very strong, and pretty much has the power of a 3rd bar. Sometimes in dungeons or PvP, it is wiser to use Grinding Revolt instead of X-Punisher
MP 3: X-Punisher This attack has greatly improved. Sieghart does a MASSIVE forward windmill, and then follows up with a ground splash. The damage has greatly improved, and it has an good horizontal range. If nothing is in front of Sieghart, during the forward windmill slash, he’ll move forward about half a screen's length.
Questions from readers:
Question: How does his 1st bar delay(non rage) compare to Warlord's?(By Guest)
Answer: Ares' 1st bar, rule break, is like Mega Slash lv. 1. For 1st bar, it depends. Hit nothing, it's the same length. Hit something, it's much longer. That is for non-rage mode. In rage mode, hitting nothing is shorter. Hit something, and it's the same length.
More to come.
Version History: V. 0.5. Added main descriptions. Will add screenshots later.
V. 0.6. Minor changes. There are notices on the top.
